Daily Encouragement Friday 17.2.2012

Read some really great stuff in my study today and really touched my heart. It was in Galatians 5:1-15. It talks about dependable disciples. Some of the verses that really stood out were

Verses 5-6 : “For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”

Verses 13-14 “13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

There is much talk about hope, faith and love, love being the greats. We are called to be free, free to love one another as ourselves – to respect, honour, encourage and comfort each other, just as Jesus does for us. God has given us the faith to love like He loves. I pray that my local community will start to love more, hate less and appreciate the awesome gift of loving that we have been given.
