Complete the Task

22 “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Our task set before us is the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace, set before us by our Brother and Lord, Jesus Christ. No matter what the consequences, imprisonment, hardship or even death – but lead by the Holy Spirit – the gospel of God’s grace.

Wow, Paul has such boldness, no doubt, almost fearless in the face of the world’s controlling boundaries on the flesh, fearless in the leading of the Holy Spirit. But Paul was also wise enough to listen and know when the Holy Spirit warned him of danger and recognized dangerous situations.
